From the TP DRM Description: The objectives of the team project are as follows:
1. To provide students with experience in interdisciplinary and international teamwork, while fostering skills in effective management of time and resources.
2. To encourage students to share and develop novel ideas for using space technologies to improve current methods of disaster risk management.
3. To provide recommendations on how existing space-based Earth observation missions and tools can be better applied to the field of disaster risk management.
4. To identify where gaps exist in current space-based Earth observation missions and tools and, if it is possible, to define a mission or missions that may address those gaps.
5. To study opportunities to improve the impact of disaster risk management projects via innovative and effective use of Internet based applications and to help the team better understand key lessons learned, success factors and good practices.
6. To produce a comprehensive report with recommendations for future international planning to implement space technologies for disaster risk management.
